Have you ever been at the place in your business where you've run out of your warm market to prospect and you turn to the internet for leads?
I've been there.
In fact, most network marketing companies teach their distributors to buy leads from the internet and that is exactly where I found myself…going to a "good" lead company and buying their leads for around $5 a pop!
I've learned many secrets since that are worth gold to those who will just pay attention and read the rest of this article. I probably could save you thousands of dollars, many wasted hours, and you would never have to cold call again…

Good. The first thing to realize is that the leads you buy from the internet are very generic. What do I mean? They are people who have filled out a business survey form that is NOT specific to your particular opportunity. Plus, they are sold to multiple people (even if they call it an exclusive lead) so that by the time you call that person they are already irritated.
In my experience, everyone I called (I paid $5/lead) was a complete waste of my time. After spending close to a thousand dollars I did not get even one person to join my business. Should I be surprised? Probably not…after all, the leads were not people who had seen my specific opportunity which means I was actually trying to sell them on something that they had never heard about or seen before.
Let me put it to you bluntly. Leads from "lead generation" companies off the internet are JUNK! Don't waste your money…they are way too generic. Very few people succeed at building a business from buying leads from the internet.
So what is the solution?
Glad you asked.
It is really quite simple. You need to control your own lead generation. Just think about it. Why give someone else your hard earned money when you can easily learn how to get a real time prospect that is already interested in your business?
Sound too good to be true? Of course it does…you won't hear about this from your network marketing company because they want to make money from you buying these generic leads. Or they simply do not know themselves how to generate their own leads and thus cannot teach others to do the same.
Controlling your own lead generation is not as hard as you think. In fact, I think you will be surprised at how easy it can be. All you need is the following:
1. Lead capture page
2. Traffic to your lead capture page
That's it!
Some of you may or may not know what a lead capture page is so in simple terms it is a website that is designed to capture someone's contact information. It normally is short and to the point about your particular opportunity. It should be convincing and grab the attention of someone looking for a business opportunity. Your headline probably is the most important part of the lead capture page.
Getting traffic to your website (lead capture page) is a little more difficult. But anyone can do it! You just have to know the best kept secrets that only the guru's know. I can't go into detail on this article how to do it but I will give you the basics:
1. Create your own blog from blogspot.com where you write content with keywords from your particular business opportunity.
2. Submit all your content that you create to article directories (you can google article directories to find ones to submit your articles to)
3. Start leaving your trail in forums. Make sure your url to your lead capture page is in your signature line.
4. Learn the art of ppc. (WARNING: Don't bid on generic keywords like "mlm", "network marketing", "home based business", etc. because you will burn a hole in your pocket)
5. Put an ad in a magazine or newspaper directing people to your lead capture page.
You now know more than 90% of home based business owners. You could spend hundreds of dollars in courses just to learn these little tips I've just shared with you.
