Having spoken with countless men and women about romance in their relationship, I found that I just kept hearing, "he/she's not as romantic as they were when we first met". So this week, we polled the community to find out just how many people felt this way.

In our most recent poll, we asked "how romantic is your partner compared to when you first met?" The results were as follows:

29% responded that their partner is actually more romantic than when they first met.
An additional 28% claimed their partner is about the same.
And the remaining 43% felt that the level of romance has declined in their relationship.

First of all - congratulations to the 29% who increased the romance in their relationship! Romance is an action based on the heart's feelings so it is only fitting that as love grows, so should romance.

So why did the largest group of our couples lose some of that special spark?

Couples sometimes get into a comfortable groove together and neglect keeping the relationship fresh and romantic. Couples can also get comfortable in love. Your partner knows you love them, so why do you have to spend time reminding them of something that they already know? Well - the answer is that they don't need you remind them. They do you know love them. But I can say that romance will enhance your relationship and connection in ways that make the days worth living. Sure you can know that you are loved; but to feel you are loved is a whole different, powerful experience that brightens your day and warms your heart.

So while it seems that everyone is short on time these days, remember to keep the romance alive. Dishes, laundry, cutting the grass, going to the store, watching the game - it can all wait for love.
